GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  DUE TO EQUIPMENT OUTAGES AS A RESULT OF HURRICANE
KATRINA, COMMANDER, NAVAL PERSONNEL COMMAND (COMNAVPERSCOM) HAS
TEMPORARILY SHIFTED TO MANUAL OPERATIONS FOR DISTRIBUTION AND ORDER
NEGOTIATION.  TO FULLY SUPPORT OUR SAILORS, SPECIFICALLY AT OVERSEAS
LOCATIONS, THE CURRENT AM/PM DETAILING PROCESS AND SCHEDULE IS BEING

EXPANDED TO FACILITATE VERBAL ORDER NEGOTIATION WITH DETAILERS.
2.  COMMENCING WITH THE 7 SEP 05 PERSONNEL REQUISITION CYCLE,
COMNAVPERSCOM WILL EXPAND AM/PM DETAILING TO ENSURE ALL ELIGIBLE
PERSONNEL ARE OFFERED A CHANCE TO NEGOTIATE.  DURING THE FIRST THREE
WORK DAYS OF EACH APPLICATION PHASE DETAILERS WILL BE AVAILABLE
VIA PHONE FOR ORDER NEGOTIATION BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 0600 - 2200 CST
(IN ADDITION TO NORMAL WORK HOURS (0800 - 1600 CST) DURING THE
REMAINDER OF THE CYCLE).  SAILORS ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO CALL AND
NEGOTIATE ORDERS DURING THESE PERIODS.  IN ADDITION, EMAIL
NEGOTIATION WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR THOSE UNABLE TO MAKE PHONE CONTACT.
3.  THE REQUISITION CYCLE IS NOT AVAILABLE ON THE SAME DAYS EVERY
MONTH, THEREFORE AN AM/PM DETAILING SCHEDULE WILL BE POSTED ON THE
COMNAVPERSCOM WEBSITE TO ENSURE WIDEST DISSEMINATION.  TO VIEW THE
CURRENT NEGOTIATION SCHEDULE, LOG ON TO
WWW.NPC.NAVY.MIL/ENLISTED/JASS.  UPDATES WILL BE PROVIDED AS FURTHER
INFORMATION BECOMES AVAILABLE.
