MEDIA AWARDS PROGRAM FOLDER. THIS GUIDANCE DETAILS REQUIREMENTS FOR 
SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES PRODUCED IN CALENDAR YEAR 2007. DEADLINE FOR 
ENTRY SUBMISSION IS 15 FEBRUARY 2008.
2. THE CHINFO MERIT AWARDS RECOGNIZE EXCELLENCE IN NAVY INTERNAL PRINT 
AND BROADCAST MEDIA PRODUCTS BY NAVY COMMANDS AND INDIVIDUALS. PRINT 
MEDIA CATEGORIES INCLUDE: NEWSPAPER, FEATURE, NEWS, SPORTS WRITING, 
PHOTOGRAPHY, FAMILYGRAM, WEB PUBLICATION AND CRUISEBOOK, AMONG OTHERS. 
BROADCAST MEDIA CATEGORIES INCLUDE: RADIO ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAM, RADIO 
SPOT PRODUCTION, TELEVISION INFORMATION PROGRAM, TELEVISION REPORT AND 
SITE TELEVISION NEWSCAST AND OTHERS.
3. FIRST PLACE WINNERS IN PRINT CATEGORIES A - T AND BROADCAST 
CATEGORIES A ? S WILL REPRESENT THE NAVY IN THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE 
THOMAS JEFFERSON AWARDS AT THE DEFENSE INFORMATION SCHOOL, FT MEADE, MD.
4. PARTICIPATION IN THIS PROGRAM IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED FOR MEDIA 
PROFESSIONALS AND ANY OTHER NAVY PERSONNEL WHO PRODUCED COMPETITIVE 
COMMUNICATION PRODUCTS. EFFORTS IN TELLING THE NAVY STORY OVER THE PAST 
YEAR HAVE BEEN EXCEPTIONAL, AND THESE INDIVIDUALS DESERVE RECOGNITION 
FOR THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS.
