RMKS/1.  THIS NAVADMIN ANNOUNCES THE AUTHORITY AND UPDATE ON THE SELECTIVE 
REENLISTMENT BONUS (SRB).  ON 30 SEPTEMBER 2013, IAW REF (A), THE NAVY 
TRANSITIONED THE SELECTIVE REENLISTMENT BONUS PROGRAM'S GOVERNING AUTHORITY 
FROM REF (B) TO REF (C).  THIS NAVADMIN DOES NOT ANNOUNCE CHANGES IN RATES, 
SRB AWARD LEVELS, OR THE PROCESS FOR SUBMITTING A SRB REQUEST.

2.  THIS NAVADMIN SERVES AS INTERIM GUIDANCE PENDING RELEASE OF THE NEW 
OPNAVINST GOVERNING SRB.  REFS (B) AND (D) WILL MAINTAIN CONTINUITY FOR THOSE 
MEMBERS CURRENTLY UNDER AN SRB CONTRACT ISSUED PRIOR TO 1 OCTOBER 2013.

3.  REF (A) LIMITS THE MAXIMUM SRB CONTRACT TO AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED 
$100,000 PER CONTRACT OR $25,000 PER YEAR.  ADDITIONALLY, IT IMPOSES A 
$200,000 CAREER SRB CAP.  NAVY PERSONNEL COMMAND (PERS-811) AND COMMAND 
CAREER COUNSELORS SHALL ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH SRB MONETARY LIMITS WHEN 
PROCESSING SRB REQUESTS.  ADDITIONALLY, A SAILOR MUST BE AN E-3 OR HIGHER TO 
BE ELIGIBLE FOR AN SRB AND MUST REENLIST FOR A PERIOD OF AT LEAST THREE YEARS 
OR VOLUNTARILY EXTEND AN ENLISTMENT FOR A PERIOD OF AT LEAST ONE YEAR ON 
ACTIVE DUTY OR IN AN ACTIVE STATUS IN THE SELECTED RESERVE.  REENLISTMENTS 
ARE ONLY AUTHORIZED ON THE SPECIFIC DATE AND FOR THE SPECIFIC TERM IN THE
PERS-811 SRB APPROVAL MESSAGE.  ANY CHANGES MUST BE SUBMITTED TO PERS-811.

4.  REPAYMENT POLICY HAS TRANSITIONED FROM REF (E) TO REF (F) AND REMAINS IAW 
REF (G) PARAGRAPH 14 AND REFS (H) THROUGH (K).
